Day 89 Crocus

If you've never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a flower in spring bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom.  ~Terri Guillemets

Day 87

still no merry go round :(

Day 86

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

Day 85 Horizon

Day 84

I thought these were so beautiful.  The one on the left, above the door, says: "Until the day dawn, and the shadows flee away."

Day 83 The Ups And Downs

This is not a merry go round.  No, it's a teeter totter type of thingy but I feel we're getting closer.

Day 81 Say It Isn't So

A winter storm warning is in effect.. sniffle... ice, ice is already coating the ground.

Day 80 latest obsession

I am loving ruffles!  Ruffles are going on all the clothes I'm sewing for my littlest, shorts, capris, shirts, dresses, every where I can add them.  I swear there is nothing cuter than Lil' Miss in her new ruffled clothes.  Oh never fear, I'll have photos as soon as it warms back up because, as you'll see with the next post, the ice is back.  So, we're back to pretending spring indoors and I'm sewing like crazy to get her wardrobe ready for those beautiful outings.  I've been daydreaming of her in a ruffled sun dress, bare feet, on the beach, and giggling as the waves kiss her toes... sigh... ruffles and giggles, they just go together.

Day 76 In Search Of

Today was gorgeous!  It was the first time this year that Lil' Miss was able to play on the slides and swings and she was in heaven!  We took her to a couple of new parks in search of an elusive merry go round, the type that used to be in playgrounds.  We still haven't found one.  I'm pretty sure they don't exist anymore, at least not around here, but we'll keep trying because it's pretty fun checking out new places.  Plus, it makes her smile and I love her smile.

Day 75

Day 74 Secret Treasures

I only took a few photos yesterday before the rain came and washed away any creative spark I might have had.  They were of this, my favorite thing to photograph, the light in her hair.  I know I sound crazy, believe me, I hear myself, but when she sits in the light it's as if heaven shines down on her.  I find myself daily taking photos of her playing, laughing, coloring... all in the light, blown out, and I don't even care.  These are my secret treasures.  They show her angelic as I see her, a radiant spirit.  Sometimes, I think it's important to take the image as I see it because I know, in the future, I will give anything to see that light in her hair again, to see her at 3 years old with ethereal golden curls.

Day 73 At Last

Oh Spring... how I adore you, how I love your fresh green leaves so bright, so beautiful, that not even the snow can deny you... Welcome back old friend, you were missed in you absence.

Day 72 Falling Waters

Spring... where are you?  I have had to resort to my indoor fountains for the sound of tranquil waters...  I've had to plant seeds in my windows... I even planted veggies indoors today.  Where are you???  I don't want to complain but this time last year... tee shirts, thawed lake, sun, crocuses blooming... I was getting outside.  This year, snow is still on the ground.  I fill the urge to kick a groundhog.

Day 71 Yay Hey No Way

It's not the best photo but I adore her expression.  She was having a Jake And The Neverland Pirates slumber party with her sister last night.  She was Izzy and being completely silly.  Her new favorite phrase is, "yay hey, no way" lol!

Day 70 Shy

Day 69 Apricot

If you saw day 61 then you know Lil' Miss and I did a little indoor gardening and planted apricots.  Here is the first little tree to grow.  It's only about 2 inches but I have a lot of hope for it.

Day 68

This was a big morning.  Little Huck Finn's Colonial Village project at school was due.  He was pretty proud of it and even turned to give me a shot while he waited on the bus.  I loved the sunrise this morning.  It's just too bad it didn't melt away the snow.

Day 67 Ice

I'm late here again... and I totally blame it on the weather.
